Promoting Humanity in Medicine & for the World

For who should be the example of humanity?
It should be those who care for the sick & suffering.
It should be us in medicine.

I entered medicine drawn by a deep love for both science and humanity. The intricate beauty of the human body and the profound privilege of caring for others felt like a calling. As I grew into medical education, my passion expanded— I wanted others to love this field as I did, especially the sacred act of healing.
Over 15 years, I rose through the ranks of academic medicine, eventually serving as an Associate Dean at a medical school. From the outside, it looked like success. But inside, something shifted. After a painful experience of being publicly “cancelled” on social media, I was forced to confront a truth: the path I had followed no longer aligned with the values that first drew me to medicine.
That reckoning became a turning point.
Today, I walk a different path—one rooted in authenticity, gratitude for my gifts, and a refusal to live by the narrative of pleasing others. I speak and teach to promote humanity in medicine and in the world, unapologetically. My mission is to remind us all that compassion, clarity, and courage are not optional—they are essential.
The pain, rage, and divisiveness we see in the news and across social media are more than noise—they’re signals of a deeper fracture. They pull us further apart as human beings and distract us from one of our most sacred missions: helping one another. This mission is not only central to medicine—it’s central to humanity.

The pain, rage, and divisiveness we see in the news and across social media are more than noise—they’re signals of a deeper fracture. They pull us further apart as human beings and distract us from one of our most sacred missions: helping one another. This mission is not only central to medicine—it’s central to humanity.
I believe there’s another way. A way rooted in compassion, grace, and kindness. I won’t pretend it’s easy. Like many, I’ve felt the pull toward anger, shame, and blame when faced with hard conversations or painful truths. But through difficult lessons and a commitment to growth, I’ve learned to lean into what’s right—even when it’s uncomfortable.
I’m not perfect. I’m a reforming perfectionist and often my own harshest critic. But that’s exactly why I can speak honestly about the journey. Growth isn’t linear, and healing isn’t tidy. Still, I choose to walk this path with intention and hope.
Now, I’m looking for others who want to walk it with me. To build a community that chooses courage over comfort, connection over division, and humanity over hostility.
